EDITORIAL- THIS SIGNAL IS IN SUCH A BAD SPOT(BAYSIDE, NY)

by:Anthony J Trimboli- Bayside, New York- This signal on the corner of Bell Boulevard and Northern Blvd is in such a bad spot. A while ago, I spoke to the Community Board in the area concerning a traffic signal that I do not think is the best for the boulevard. All the Community Board told me in Douglaston/Bayside was that the signal was OK for this intersection for turning traffic onto Northern Blvd East from Bell Blvd South. She said it was OK the signal.

I still think they should replace this signal or do some research on how to put a better signal for turns(or merely just remove the turn signal here) for traffic turning onto Northern Blvd East from Bell Blvd south. The signal is too short and I have seen many visible accidents almost right in front of me because of this signal not being programmed or perhaps it does not belong there.

Again, the Community Board that services Bayside/Douglaton/Little Neck says that the signal is OK where it is, but I think there need to be some programming change on the turn signal by a White Castle and a bank on Bell Blvd South and Northern Blvd East. There is a programming problem here.
