by:Anthony J Trimboli- Howard Beach, New York- A small needle was found today on a street in Howard Beach, Queens near the NYC Subways. The needle may have been used or still can be used to take somebody's blood or even to inject insulin or something.
When the needle was found this morning, 311 in New York City was exceptionally busy. So, the local call alarm box right down the street was used to see if anybody in Emergency Service could help in picking up the needle that was in the street by the local subway station.
The person at 911 when I called using the local call alarm box said that "the needle may belong to a local nurse or RN". There is an RN right around the corner from there, so I may ask them or somebody else to pick up the needle in the street, but it may be at the local station house or even ambulance at this time.
The needle may belong to an RN who works around the corner.
It was a shocker to find a needle on the street this morning when I was walking to the NYC Subways. The 911 operator gave good directions in saying that it may belong to a local RN or somebody like that. I believe there is one around the corner. She gave good directions to me at 911.
Finding things on the street even a small needle can be strange.
Funny enough, the New York City Call Information Center, being 311 was very busy this morning. I tried to call them and they were busy. I tried again and there was a ten minute wait. Since a needle that fell into the street may belong or have a relevance to medicine and could cause danger, I decided to use the call alarm and was given good advice this morning. But, it is not really 911 per se, but maybe something may be inside of it.
I think this weird needle case is now solved. It must be a local RN around the corner from there on Coleman Square in Howard Beach. I have a strong suspicion of this.
