by:Anthony J Trimboli- Long Island City, New York- People usually associate about three or four tolls to get to New Jersey from Queens, New York. They usually take the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge or the Throgs Neck Bridge across the Bronx to the George Washington Bridge.

There is another way through Long Island City where you just connect to the George Washington Bridge through the Queensborough Bridge and the FDR Drive. People may often say that this route is longer in duration from wherever you are coming from, but it is like an additional ten minutes. All you do is get on the Queensborough Bridge and just take it to the FDR Drive and head North to where the signs say George Washington Bridge. Coming back from New Jersey to Queens, just pay one toll on the George Washington Bridge and head back through the FDR Drive.

Again, why pay four tolls in one day just to go shopping in New Jersey. One part about New York City is it is a toll haven. You have trillions of toll bridges surrounding areas of New York City like Queens and Brooklyn and you can not get out without paying a toll or perhaps taking a bus or a train. If you want to go by car, why don't you just take the Queensborough Bridge to the FDR Drive to get you to New Jersey via the George Washington Bridge.

Sometimes people associate paying HIGH tolls just to get to New Jersey via the George Washington Bridge from the Queensborough Bridge in Long Island City, New York--it does not and can not cost that much money to go into New Jersey from Queens just to do some shopping. It does not have to.

I hope this brand new route or alternate route to New Jersey from the 59th Street Bridge is of helpful to you. Queens, New York is a horrible maze when it comes to tolls and toll bridges. This may help save you some money if you want to just go to New Jersey to do some shopping from Queens, New York. It really really can save you money. Honestly.
