by:Anthony J Trimboli- Queens, New York- I am glad that the MTA IG is acknowledging my complaints about some failing New York City Subway stations throughout the New York City Subway system.
As you know, some of the worst maintained subway stations are on the A Train Line mostly in The Rockaways as you head to the end of the A Train Line and to the shuttle train end. The stations have cracked lamps, cracking sidewalks and platforms on them and are in really bad shape out there in the Rockaways on the A Train Line and the Shuttle Line.
I sent out an e-mail to the MTA IG concerning my concern and interest in why these stations are no good and they did send back a nice correspondence back to me equally as interested in these subway stations that are falling apart and really doing bad, especially out there in the Rockaways and other areas of Brooklyn to a large extent.
I currently ride on the R Train and the V Train to get me to Manhattan and the subway stations around Forest Hills and Rego Park and Elmhurst and Long Island City are marvelous when it comes to subway station maintenance. When Mr. Polanco of New York City Transit told me that lots of the subway stations are failing with him and the subway system, funny enough, I thought he was talking about the stations on the A Train Line around the Rockaways. The stations on the F and G and V and R around Elmhurst, Rego Park, Forest Hills, Long Island City, and Woodside are in very very good shape compared to those on the A Train Line.
I am glas as a writer for this paper in this borough of the city that the MTA IG is listening to the complaints of the customer as well as they did today. With the busyness of New York City Transit in many ways, you may need a PUSH in a message to get your point across to others. Maybe a letter delivered to them specially from the MTA IG will help them see it clearly that just an e-mail or letter since they are busy busy busy times three at the time.
Well, I hope the MTA IG or New York City Transit gets back to me on this issue.Again, it is such a tricky issue with NYCT Subway Stations, lots of them are bad on the A Train Line and the Shuttle in Queens and in Brooklyn and Upper Manhattan like that. The best are here in Queens, especislly on the FGR and V Lines.
