DINER STILL CLOSED IN MY COMMUNITY-HOWARD BEACH, NEW YORK

by:Anthony J Trimboli- The Waterview Diner is still closed in Howard Beach. It has been there since the early seventies and closed recently on Cross Bay Blvd. IT HAS BEEN CLOSED SINCE FIVE MONTHS!!!!!

The diner came out and blasted young people like myself for not opening a new space there, but a new conclusion has come up where lots of people are finding other places to go around New York City, such as Manhattan. Every day, you ride the train and you see TRILLIONS of people in mass transit riding the train to get to Manhattan(not necessarily work, but Manhattan) every single day. You would not believe how this place, Howard Beach, empties out each day starting from 5AM up until straight through the day with the TRAFFIC going into Manhattan.

I think the Waterview Diner was completely and totally wrong to blast young people like myself for keeping the diner closed, but people my age, are still at school. I was born in 1979 and see A WHOLESOME AMOUNT of people my age either at school or with some strong civil service agency or something. I believe The Waterview Diner said that people today are spoiled and he was talking about all of this inside there before the diner closed. Besides that, the young population comment does have something to do with it, but only because SOME of them are still at school around my age. As hard as it is to believe, the NYC Department of Education says that people can be at school up until age 31 today. Yes, people my age are still at school. If that was what the diner management was referring to, they are correct, but people my age are still at school, or with strong civil service leagues, or just walking around without any real work at this time as I see. I still do not know why the Waterview Diner focused on the young part, it does have a factor, but not necessarily the conflict of interest factor they were saying. My age is either with school or with civil service and some are still just walking the streets without work.

I think it is shocking to the eye how a local diner is still closed after four months or five months in the Queens community of Howard Beach, but it seems like people have decided to choose a new horizon and go to areas like Manhattan and just walk around in Manhattan. You should see how crowded the subway cars are from 5 AM straight through the day with people going into Manhattan and just leaving the area. As for the young part, my age is either like me sort of or still at school or with civil service leagues at this time.

Again the diner's doors remain closed at this time. They have been closed for about five months.
