by:Anthony J Trimboli- Queens, New York- Please be weary of mechanic malfunctions in elevators and other vehicles around the New York City Subway system and other areas around New York City and Queens.
The New York City Subways was specified here because there was an incident where somebody got locked in a NYC Subway elevator for about one minute at a local station around them. Plus, on top of it, inside the station, the call system to get FDNY 911 was not working.
The 911 operator of FDNY who the person called said the incident where the elevator did not go up and the person was locked in the elevator for about a minute was a "suspected mechanical malfunction" of the elevator. Apparently, the person got locked in the box and the elevator did not go up but the door eventually opened on the elevator which made the FDNY 911 operator very relieved. She said she would send Maintenance because it was a "suspected mechanical malfunction" as said by her when the person called in the emergency or mechanical problem at the station at about 2 PM.
You need to watch out today for things a whole lot like "suspected mechanical malfunctions" because they can be scary especially for an elevator. Being locked inside of a box for one minute with the elevator jammed, the system inside of the elevator for emergency not working, which is a FRIGHT, and the doors eventually opening is scary. As you may know, TWA 800 back in 1996 may have killed all those people because of mechanical malfunctions in the fuel tank back in 1996 out there on Long Island. You do not know how scary it is to be locked inside of an elevator where there is a malfunctioning call box for you to get 911 inside of the elevator. So, you are just locked there, but other passengers may notice you. Again, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will surely look into something deemed as "a suspected mechanical malfunction" in a New York City Transit elevator in Howard Beach, New York.
Please watch yourself in areas with elevators that have mechanical malfunctions. It had too many of them inside of it even a malfunctioning call alarm system that eventually worked. The 911 operator was relieved very much when the person was able to eventually get the doors open or they would be locked in a box for at least until 5 PM when the porters come around.
In times like these, people should really question the safety and security of things like this like being locked in an elevator where there ALSO is not really a functioning call system in there to get 911 or you have to try the buttons to get 911 and eventually get them. As you know, back in 1996, TWA 800 blew up in the skies of Long Island, New York because of some mechanical malfunction that was suspected to be in the fuel tank or something.
Please watch this.
