by:Anthony J Trimboli- Howard Beach, Queens- Local residents of the block of 158 Place in Howard Beach are proud at a local resident who had problems constantly going down a street to work and thought he was hit by an electrical wire today while coming down the street this morning to get the NYC Subways.
"I thought the hanging electrical wires got lower and I thought one hit me on the head this morning" the young man said. The FDNY responding officer who handled everything said that the wires are dead and they belong to the local cable company. For some reason, people are chopping cable wires down in the area because the residents do not want cable anymore. The FDNY first responding officer said that the wires are dead and maybe they did lower more.
The woman at the local nail salon where the FDNY truck parked really was happy. She was smiling and said thank you to another fire fighter who responded to this.
On many occasions, many people including myself have had problems going down the street here on 158 Place because of low hanging electric wires. Today, somebody going down the street thought that the low hanging electrical wires hit them on the head.
After this, the young man called the FDNY via the firebox and got people there to put the wires upward. The black responding FDNY officer got on top of the truck to place the wires on the main wiring up above.
The responding officer, a tall man with a moustache, was brave and touched the wires hanging low with his hand. No shock in the wires.
Many local people were happy in the area such as the owner of a meat market in the area on 158 Place where they cheered on the person who decided to call FDNY to remove the wires from hanging low and really blocking people crossing.
