by:Anthony J Trimboli- Queens, New York- If you live anywhere near Queens Blvd, some great shopping also awaits directly over the Queensborough Bridge that is accessible by bus being the Q60 or the R and V Train lines.

If you live in areas around Queens like Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside, Astoria, you should know that there are some great stores directly across the Queensborough Bridge straight up until you hit Lexington Avenue. People often think of Manhattan shopping as being something that should be fancy and expensive, but this is NOT ALWAYS true of the Upper East Side around the Queensborough Bridge.

People usually associate shopping on the Upper East Side with stores like Bloomingdales but this is not the only place to go shopping if you live in Queens, New York and travel via bus like the Q60 or the R and V across over the Manhattan side.

You have shops that are like Home Depot, for example, where you can buy homegoods and things for your house. You have other shops where you can buy candies and other things that may be nice for your home in terms of decorations and body cremes, etc.

Not all of the Upper East Side around the Queensborough Bridge up until Lexington Avenue is there for fancy and exclusive shopping. Some regular everyday stores that everyday people shop at are there at the foor of the Queensborough Bridge on the Manhattan side. Some are very huge and very nice places to shop like the Home Depot on the East Side there on 3 Avenue could almost be a flagship in terms of size.

Travel over the Queensborough Bridge if you take the bus is OK, some days it can be very heavy though. It is heavy because of the large flock of people who travel over the bridge to go around Manhattan during business hours. I have no idea why. On other days, the QueensBorough Bridge is completely and totally empty and you have smooth sailing on the Q60 bus if you decide to shop on the Upper East Side around the Queensborough Bridge.

Manhattan is not all pricey and expensive on the Upper East Side around the Queensborough Bridge. People usually equate Manhattan to fancy and expensive things but it is usually different at the other side of the Queensborough Bridge.

Best ways to get to the East Side from Queens like Long Island City, Astoria, Sunnyside, Woodside, Elmhurst, Forest Hills, etc.

Q60 bus towards Manhattan on Queens Blvd

R,V Trains Local to stops on the East Side like Lexington Avenue stop and 53 St/5 Avenue on the V trains.
