by:Anthony J Trimboli- People sometimes say that Queens is an extension of Long Island, being Nassau and Suffolk County, New York. It is not really true besides some things. When I say "some" I mean little similarities.
Queens, New York is really nice because it is a place where you can meet many nationalities and meet many people in different areas. I find that to be something of beauty in Queens because you can go to one area being Richmond Hill and find areas for one or two types of people where you go to Howard Beach and find other people. Also, besides that, Queens is one area where you really can mix the residential with the commercial like College Point, Queens, for example where they do this.
In areas like College Point, I can not believe how they have houses here and then some supermarkets and then a building and then some factories. It is so remarkably unique that way and it is not like a factory next to residential houses or something like that.
One part of Queens is the diversity of people as many say and we have heard on numerous occasions, but it also has a diversity of places to go and things to do. You could go to one area to buy lumber and find in the next town, you have places to buy your homegoods, such as food like that.
This is one unique part of Queens. It is an area which has lots of things inside of it and a large mix inside of it similar to Manhattan. People say it is like another Long Island, I can disagree with that to a large degree right up to the borders.
