by:Anthony J Trimboli- Howard Beach, New York- Helpful new signs were put up in Howard Beach, New York to direct traffic in one area to the proper areas of the parkway. The new sign was put up recently as part of a new project by New York City DOT to improve the roads around the city.
Ms. Mahilida of New York City Dept of Transportation says they are planning many new things in the future to help the person who drives on their roads get there more safely and more secure. They currently have a big focus on pot holes apparently to make sure drivers are safe on the parkways, according to Ms. Mahilda who works in one of their Community Assistance offices.
In Howard Beach, a new sign was put up in a back corner of 102 Street and 155 Avenue where the traffic coming up from the back streets can now know which road to take when they are turning if they want to go to the Belt Parkway or to Brooklyn or Queens on the Belt Parkway or to Albert Road. The sign is just very unique in how it helps traffic in that small corner area.
Besides that, New York City DOT is also preparing many new things for the commuter on the roads that sound very very positive according to Ms. Mahidila of NYC DOT who works in Community Assistance of NYC DOT. I think this is good.
The uniqueness of this new sign put up in a small corner in Howard Beach really strikes me though. It is like in a small corner of Howard Beach where traffic may not know which way to go. Is it needed?? Most likely.
