by:Anthony J Trimboli- Queens, New York- As a matter of information, motorists in Queens, New York and perhaps all of the five boroughs should be cautious around intersections. Since 2000, New York City and its Police Dept, Finance Dept, and Dept of Transportation all agreed to put traffic cameras in busy intersections to deter and catch speeders and people who run the red lights.
Currently, in Queens, New York, there are traffic cameras in almost every single intersection mostly it looks here in Queens, New York. Please be cautious if you are a driver in Queens, New York and are stopping at red lights that are just changing.
If you can, try to stop abruptly at a red light where the light is just changing. People are getting tickets in Queens, New York by NYC DOT Red Light Monitoring for going through lights that are apparently changing at the same time like on an expressway or on a parkway service road. Try to stop abruptly at these lights that are turning from yellow to red or you could be at risk for getting a ticket.
The red lights are monitored by NYC DOT and NYC DOT installs the cameras up there also there are new NYPD cameras up there to watch the speed of traffic on the local roads. Such areas as Rockaway Park, New York have now ALSO NYPD cameras to watch the roads and watch speeders on the road. The NYPD cameras can also give out tickets now too along with the NYC DOT cameras.
If you are a motorist here in Queens, New York and most likely other boroughs, please watch the red lights and running them because there are cameras inside the intersections by NYC DOT. Places also like Rockaway Park, New York have NYPD cameras in intersections that are also there to catch speeders.
The new initiative back in 2000 by the NYPD and NYC DOT Red Light Cameras and NYC Finance was there originally to stop speeders and people who ran red lights in busy intersections but now I believe they have cameras in almost ALL intersections as of 2009 now. The NYPD also installed a new camera in the intersection likewise. The NYPD camera is there to stop speeders.
Please, as a matter of information, please watch red lights and stop at them and go the proper speed here in Queens, New York and the rest of the five boroughs of New York City, please. There is an enormity of red light cameras and speed cameras watching the roads currently.
